Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, in just four months of active operations at the free trade zone through "Termez," goods worth $15.5 million have been exported. This information was reported by the press service of the Customs Committee, as conveyed by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

During a meeting between the head of the Surkhandarya Region Customs Administration, Izzatulla Guliamov, and the head of the customs in Afghanistan's Balkh Province, Bilal Muhammad Abdullah, the discussion focused on ways to enhance trade relations and increase trade turnover.

Additionally, the parties talked about measures to improve border and customs control for individuals arriving in the trade zone. They addressed issues related to currency exchange, recognition of certificates, and support for Afghan entrepreneurs operating within the zone.

The International Trade Center "Termez" was inaugurated at the border with Afghanistan in August of this year. According to the directive from Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a free trade zone is operational there. Foreign citizens can enter Uzbekistan through a special corridor at the International Trade Center "Termez" without obtaining an entry visa.

It was noted that the trade center is visited by more than two thousand Afghan citizens weekly.

As a reminder, Kazakhstan has opened its trade pavilion within the International Trade Center "Termez".
