According to government data, the export volume since the beginning of the year has reached 1.3 billion dollars. The head of state emphasized the importance of expanding foreign trade and instructed the responsible agencies to enhance support for entrepreneurs entering international markets. In particular, it was noted that there is a need to work with them in a targeted manner, assisting in finding foreign partners and establishing supply chains.
Additionally, other results from January were highlighted during the meeting. In the first month of the year, 277 thousand people were employed in the country: of these, 91 thousand secured permanent jobs, while 153 thousand began engaging in entrepreneurial activities.
Attracting investments plays a crucial role in economic growth. In January, Uzbekistan received 3 billion dollars in foreign investments, and a similar amount is expected in February, along with the launch of 630 new projects. Overall, it is planned to attract 42 billion dollars in investments by 2025, with the export volume aimed at reaching 30 billion dollars.
The president has tasked officials with accelerating progress in these areas, paying special attention to each investment and export project. Responsible parties are directed to strengthen cooperation with foreign companies and partners to create favorable conditions for business development and increase the supply of Uzbek products to international markets.
It is worth noting that the authorities in Uzbekistan aim to lift 60 districts and cities out of poverty and unemployment this year. To achieve this, the plan is to employ 5.2 million citizens, with 1.5 million people expected to be moved out of the poverty category.
