In 2024, new industrial enterprises, tourist facilities, and an IT park will be launched in Karakalpakstan. Among the key infrastructure achievements is the opening of a 423-meter-long road and railway bridge, which has reduced the distance for cargo and passenger transport by 180 kilometers. Additionally, the construction of the 240-kilometer Kungrad – Beineu road, costing 323 million dollars, has been completed.
In 2025, it is planned to allocate 3.1 billion dollars in investments, of which 500 million dollars will be earmarked for regional projects. To increase the share of district initiatives, additional projects worth one billion dollars will be developed. This will enable the creation of 120 new enterprises and increase the export volume to 500 million dollars.
Agriculture is one of the sectors that will receive a boost for development. Plans include reducing areas planted with low-yield cotton and replacing them with fodder crops and sesame. This will not only increase sesame exports by 500 million dollars but also generate additional income from milk and meat production amounting to 6.5 trillion sums.
Tourism remains a significant driver of the region's economy. In Muynak alone, the potential for tourism projects is estimated at one billion dollars. Ethno and eco-tourism, utilizing 200 cultural heritage sites such as Chilpik, Ayazkala, and Tuprakqala, could attract up to three million tourists annually.
The energy sector will also become a cornerstone for the region's development. A one-gigawatt wind power plant is being constructed in Karakalpakstan, with plans for the future to launch similar facilities with a total capacity of 9.3 gigawatts.
To effectively implement projects in the region, a project office will be established to analyze "growth points" and develop initiatives in agriculture, industry, and tourism.
These measures aim to reduce the unemployment rate to 5.4% and decrease poverty by 7.6%.
The President has instructed responsible officials to pay special attention to the quality of project implementation and the development of strategies for each district.
