Uzbekistan's investments in fixed assets increased by 27.6% in 2024.

In 2024, foreign direct investment (FDI) in Uzbekistan's economy rose by over 50%, according to data from the Central Bank.

The main growth came from decentralized investments, which surged by 32.8%, and their share in the total volume exceeded 90%, increasing by 3 percentage points.

However, by the end of the fourth quarter, centralized investments showed a negative trend, finishing the year with a decline of 4.2%.

The volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Uzbekistan's economy grew by 53.6%, reaching $11.9 billion, while its share in the country's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 2.4 percentage points, totaling 10.3%.

If from January to September the quarterly volume of FDI was around $2.7 billion, in the last quarter of 2024, direct investments rose to a record $3.87 billion, marking the highest level since 2021 and surpassing the previous record set at the end of 2023 ($3.41 billion).

Additionally, the volume of cross-border money transfers in 2024 increased by 30%, reaching $14.8 billion. The central bank also noted that the high volatility of the Russian ruble affected the slowdown of international transfers at the end of the year.

The difference between the sale and purchase of foreign currency by the population doubled, totaling $6.7 billion.
