According to the information from the Tashkent region's khokimiyat, the construction of a waste processing plant will be undertaken by the Chinese company Beijing China Science Runyu Technology Environmental.
It is known that the technical and economic foundations have already been established, and a project working group has been created. The Uzbek and Chinese sides have agreed to commence construction and installation works, along with the delivery of 100 units of special equipment for waste transportation.
The new project is expected to cover not only Yangiyul but also five neighboring districts – Kuyichirchik, Akkurgan, Yangiyul, Chinaz, and Yangiyul. It is anticipated that the implementation of the project will create over 250 new jobs.
It should be noted that on December 17, during a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Aziz Abduhakimov, informed the deputies about the current situation with clusters for processing and disposal that began operating in Uzbekistan in 2017. Of the nine launched enterprises, only three are currently functioning fully. The remaining six plants have gone bankrupt due to a number of issues, including consumer debts.
We also remind you that according to a presidential decree signed in early 2024, 14 waste processing plants will be launched annually over the next four years – one in each region.
