За последние два года число строительных компаний в Узбекистане уменьшилось на 15 тысяч.

In nearly two years, the number of construction companies in Uzbekistan has decreased by 15,000.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the number of construction companies in Uzbekistan has decreased by over 15,000 in nearly two years. The editorial team at Podrobno.uz attributes this decline primarily to the increased accountability requirements for companies, as well as the introduction of new regulations and standards in urban development.

According to the Statistical Agency, as of November 1 of this year, there are 31.1 thousand construction enterprises registered in Uzbekistan. In comparison, on January 1 of last year, there were 46.9 thousand. Thus, over the past 22 months, 15.8 thousand companies have exited the market, which is more than 34%.

In response to a query from a Podrobno.uz correspondent, the Ministry of Construction stated that this trend reflects the consequences of increased competition in the construction sector. Companies that are able to meet new standards and operate in a challenging market environment continue to thrive.

It is also worth noting that each year, the number of construction organizations in the republic grows by approximately over 3 thousand. Most of them are concentrated in Tashkent.

In April of this year, it was reported that Uzbekistan would strengthen control over construction and enhance seismic protection for high-rise buildings. A presidential decree was issued for this purpose.

It is important to recall that just today, news broke about two instances of violations during construction. In the Navoi region, the construction of a preschool facility was halted due to this, while in the Syrdarya region, an unfinished residential high-rise is being demolished.
