The industry continues to be the leader in lending volume in Uzbekistan.

The total lending volume of commercial banks in Uzbekistan rose by 13% from January 1, 2024, to January 1, 2025, increasing from 471.41 trillion sums to 533.12 trillion sums, according to data from the country's Central Bank.

Credits to agriculture have risen by 6%, reaching 50.3 trillion sums, while the sector's share has decreased from 10% to 9%.

The volume of lending in construction increased by 6%, totaling 12.96 trillion sums, although the sector's share dropped from 3% to 2%.

Loans to individuals showed the most significant growth, rising by 19% to 177.53 trillion sums, with the share increasing from 32% to 33%.

The trade and public services sector grew by 17%, amounting to 38.13 trillion sums, while its share remained at 7%. Other sectors demonstrated a growth of 23%, reaching 61.46 trillion sums and increasing their share from 11% to 12%.

A negative trend is observed in the transport and communications sector, where the volume of lending decreased by 4%, totaling 32.81 trillion sums, and the share fell from 7% to 6%. Housing and utility services also experienced a decline of 1%, down to 2.32 trillion sums, with the share reducing from 0.5% to 0.4%.

The sector of material and technical supply and sales grew by 4%, amounting to 4.21 trillion sums, yet its share of the overall lending volume slightly decreased from 0.9% to 0.8%.
