The involvement of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan in the Council opens up opportunities to learn from the experiences of other countries and adopt advanced international approaches to the regulation and oversight of Islamic financial institutions.
The Council for Islamic Financial Services was established in 2002, with its headquarters located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Currently, the Council comprises 188 members, including 81 regulatory and supervisory authorities, 10 international intergovernmental organizations, and 97 market participants.
The Council also includes financial regulators from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
