Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have approved a project to automate hydrological posts along the Syr Darya River.
Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have approved the technical specifications for the automation of hydrological posts along the Syr Darya River. It was previously decided to install automated water accounting systems at 10 locations within the river basin, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

Five of these sites are located in Uzbekistan, while the other five are in Kazakhstan.
According to Kazinform, the parties are currently in talks with international financial institutions. The development of a common technical assignment for the project is being carried out by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
"These are just the first 10 sites. In the future, we plan to automate all key hydrological posts and ensure complete control over water accounting. We are actively discussing this matter with our colleagues from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan," noted Nurlan Aldamzharov, the Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan.
