Uzbekistan and Hungary are set to sign an agreement on readmission and economic mobility.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Oybek Shahavdinov, held discussions with General Shandor Gombios, the Director General of the National Directorate of Police for Foreign Affairs of Hungary. The parties talked about signing an agreement on readmission and economic mobility, which will provide legal status for labor migrants from Uzbekistan in Hungary, reports the correspondent of Podrobno.uz.

As noted by "Dunyo," this agreement is crucial for further strengthening migration cooperation between the countries.

General Sandor Gombios emphasized that starting from January 1, 2025, the right to work in Hungary will only be granted to citizens of countries that have signed such an agreement. This will create legal and organizational conditions to increase the flow of labor migrants and ensure their legal status in Hungary.

Thus, this meeting has become an important step in enhancing bilateral relations and establishing systematic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary in the areas of migration and economic mobility.

Furthermore, the Hungarian side confirmed its readiness to organize a visit for a delegation from the relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan to Hungary in early 2025 for detailed discussions on cooperation in the migration sphere.
