Uzbekistan's Uzna bank has received an award from the EBRD for its achievements in green financing.

On January 21, Uzpromstroybank participated in an event organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) that focused on the achievements and advancements in green financing in Uzbekistan. The event was part of the Green Economy Financing Program (GEFF) and the Trade Facilitation Program (TFP).

During this prestigious event, a ceremony was held to award commercial banks in Uzbekistan in various categories within the frameworks of the GEFF and TFP programs. Uzpromstroybank was honored with a high award from the EBRD in the category "Green Trade Facilitation Program: Best Use of Sustainability Certification Schemes."

The award was given to Uzpromstroybank for its significant achievements in sustainable development and effective use of certification schemes that enhance environmental responsibility in international trade financing. Receiving this award confirms the bank's successful implementation of sustainability certification schemes and demonstrates its commitment to supporting environmentally responsible projects.

The EBRD highly appreciated Uzpromstroybank's contribution to promoting sustainable development principles in Uzbekistan. It was noted that the bank has become one of the few participants in the GEFF program that has implemented high environmental standards in international trade financing.

It is important to emphasize that the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan included Uzpromstroybank in the list of systemically important banks in the country for 2025, based on the results achieved in 2024 and the strategic plans for the current year.

In 2024, the bank demonstrated strong financial results:

  • Net profit amounted to 1.7 trillion soms.

  • Cost-to-Income Ratio (CIR) stood at 30%, indicating cost optimization.

  • The volume of loans for investment projects in various sectors of the economy reached 38 trillion soms.

  • As a result of implementing large investment projects, over 18,000 new jobs were created.

The dynamic growth of the bank in recent years has been driven by strategic investments in digitalization, continuous improvement of customer service, and the development of new financial products. From 2020 to 2024, the loan portfolio for legal entities increased by 50%, while the retail client portfolio grew more than threefold. The deposit portfolio for legal entities rose by 90%, and for individuals by 286%.

In 2024, in accordance with the state investment program, Uzpromstroybank attracted credit lines from international financial institutions and foreign banks totaling $600 million.

Additionally, the bank successfully placed two tranches of bonds on the London Stock Exchange for a total amount of $411 million (300 million dollars and 1.4 trillion soms). It is noteworthy that Uzpromstroybank became the first among commercial banks in the Republic of Uzbekistan to issue bonds in the national currency on the international financial market.

Since last year, Uzpromstroybank has been among the largest taxpayers in Uzbekistan, ranking in the TOP-10 list. This confirms not only the bank's financial stability but also its significant contribution to the country's economic development. In 2024, the bank increased its total tax payments to the budget by 48% compared to the previous year, reaching 1,545.8 billion soms. Of this amount, 1,531.4 billion soms went to the Republican budget, and 14.4 billion soms to local budgets.

The bank is actively implementing a transformation strategy aimed at sustainable growth, collaborating with leading international consultants McKinsey & Company. As part of its long-term development strategy, the bank pays special attention to enhancing the role of client relationship managers, modernizing IT infrastructure, restructuring financial management, and working with small and medium-sized businesses.

The bank's management emphasizes that the achieved successes would not have been possible without the trust of clients and partners, as well as the high professionalism of the team.
