Uzbekistan has approved a list of medicines and medical supplies for government procurement.

In order to ensure that medical institutions are effectively supplied with pharmaceutical products, the President of Uzbekistan has approved a list of medicines and medical supplies for procurement through state purchases, reports a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

This is stated in the decree of Shavkat Mirziyoyev "On measures to improve the system of providing medical institutions with pharmaceutical products and medical equipment."

According to the document, starting from January 1, 2025, state purchases of certain medications and medical goods will be allowed based on direct contracts. This includes original medications purchased from the manufacturer or an official supplier.

Additionally, the list includes specialized reagents and consumables for laboratory equipment, as well as medications and medical devices necessary for providing emergency and urgent medical care.

A Center for Drug Procurement and its 13 regional branches will be established based on "Uzmedimpeks" and the Republican Training and Production Center for Medical Equipment Maintenance under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that the Department for Combating Economic Crimes will establish strict control over the legality and purposefulness of the purchases and their delivery to the designated locations.
