Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings with the heads of several foreign energy companies on December 13, as reported by the presidential press service.

The discussions focused on implementing new projects in the field of electricity generation. On that day, the head of state initiated the construction of six facilities with a total cost of $3.5 billion and launched ten power plants.

Half of the new projects will be developed with the involvement of Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power. This includes two solar power plants with a total capacity of 1 GW in the Samarkand region and a battery system of 334 MW in the Tashkent region.

Additionally, two wind power plants, each with a capacity of 500 MW, have commenced operations in the Bukhara region—Bash and Jangeldy, which have been under construction since 2022. Currently, four power plants funded by Saudi investments totaling $3 billion are operational in Uzbekistan.

The Chairman of the Board of ACWA Power, Muhammad Abunayyan, discussed with the president the involvement of Saudi companies in Uzbekistan. Plans are in place to expand cooperation in modernizing the energy and transportation infrastructure, IT, the textile industry, etc.

Another power plant with a capacity of 400 MW in Kashkadarya has been launched by Aksa Enerji. This facility will complement two existing plants with a capacity of 740 MW in the Tashkent and Bukhara regions.

The president discussed with Aksa Enerji's CEO, Cemil Kazancı, projects in the field of "green" energy. Plans include engaging the Turkish company in the construction of biogas plants and modernizing the gas transportation system.

Furthermore, the president met with a UAE delegation led by Minister of Industry Sultan Ahmed al-Jaber and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Faris al-Mazrouei. It was noted during the meeting that the investment project portfolio involving Emirati companies has reached $20 billion.

The primary focus of cooperation has been "green" energy. Following the launch of a 500 MW wind power plant in the Navoi region, the total capacity created with the participation of Masdar has reached 1.5 GW. Discussions also included the implementation of investment projects in the oil and gas, chemical, mining industries, and waste processing.
