Asrorjon Akramovich Askarov (born in 1978) graduated from the Fergana Polytechnic Institute in 2001. In 2008, he obtained a degree from Tashkent State Economic University, and a year later, from the Academy of Public Administration under the President.
Askarov's predecessor, Ulugbek Mustafaev, transitioned to the position of acting governor of the Jizzakh region on December 19. He had led "RES" since 2019, and before its establishment, he was in charge of "Uzbekenergo" since 2017.
