The airline flyadeal has commenced passenger flights from Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan, as reported by Uzbekistan Airports.

The inaugural flight on the Jeddah – Tashkent route took place on November 21. The Airbus A330 of the carrier landed at Tashkent Airport at 23:40, where it was greeted with a ceremonial water arch.

Flights between the cities will operate five times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. From December 1, the flights will become daily.

Starting December 15, flyadeal will begin operating flights on the Jeddah – Namangan route. According to the head of Uzbekistan Airports, Javlonbek Umarhodjaev, the launch of flights from Medina to Tashkent is expected soon.

The company received permission from "Uzaviation" to operate flights on all three routes on November 14. At that time, it was reported that the routes would be serviced by Airbus A320 aircraft.

“We are confident that the launch of these flights will not only be an important step in developing air communication between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia but will also make air travel accessible for pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and Hajj, which is a significant goal for the company,” said Flyadeal's representative in Uzbekistan, Dilmuradkhon Bakhtierkhonov.

Earlier, Spot reported that India and Uzbekistan agreed to double the number of weekly flights.

The airline flyadeal is a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's national carrier Saudia, launched in 2017 and operating as a low-cost carrier. The company is based at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and has a fleet of 32 aircraft.
