The measures implemented aim to enhance the interest of the private sector in investing in the development of preschool and general secondary education.
Tax incentives will be in effect until January 1, 2030. These incentives also apply to foreign teachers and specialists working in schools and kindergartens. Additionally, private educational institutions will start issuing teaching visas to foreign employees. Previously, such visas were only granted to staff of state educational institutions or branches of foreign universities.
Starting January 1, 2025, the fee for obtaining a work permit for foreign teachers will be reduced from 11 million sums (30 BRV) to 375 thousand sums (1 BRV).
Furthermore, institutions will not be required to pay customs duties on the import of educational equipment, computer technology, software products, scientific and methodological literature, and other materials essential for equipping and supporting the activities of schools and kindergartens. This exemption will apply if such equipment is not produced in Uzbekistan.
As a reminder, starting January 1, 2025, monetary rewards and prizes for winners of regional and national stages of Olympiads, as well as international subject Olympiads, will be exempt from income tax.
