The frequency of air travel between Uzbekistan and India has tripled over the past year. Soon, the number of direct flights between the two countries is set to increase to 28 flights per week. This was reported by the news agency "Dunyo.uz".
Just last August, Uzbekistan Airways operated only 6 flights per week between Tashkent and Delhi. However, thanks to the consistent implementation of Uzbekistan's Development Strategy until 2030, aimed at quadrupling international flights, impressive results have been achieved.
Today, there are already 14 flights operating between the capitals of the two countries, provided by Uzbekistan Airways and IndiGo. Additionally, Uzbekistan Airways has launched new routes; starting from April this year, the airline operates two flights a week to Mumbai, and from October, it will fly twice a week to Goa. Thus, over the past year, the frequency of air travel between Uzbekistan and India has increased threefold.
At the International Civil Aviation Conference (ICAN-2024) held in Kuala Lumpur in October 2024, representatives from the aviation authorities of both countries reached an agreement to further expand air travel. Plans are in place to increase the number of flights to 28 per week, with new destinations including Samarkand, Bukhara, Namangan, Amritsar, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and other cities.
