Construction of an electric scooter manufacturing plant has commenced in the free economic zone (FEZ) "Ipak Yuli" in the Andijan region. This was announced by the regional governor Shukhratbek Abdurakhmonov on his Telegram channel.
The project, valued at $10 million, aims to produce up to 2 million electric scooters annually. Products worth $5 million are planned for export. As a result, 300 new jobs will be created. The factory is expected to open at the end of 2025.
In addition, construction has begun on a plant for producing colored metal structures in the FEZ "Ipak Yuli". The project is valued at $200 million, with the investor being the Chinese company China Baoli Technologies Holdings Limited.
The facility will have the capacity to produce 18,000 and 45,000 tons of products annually, with an export potential of $18 million. The factory will create 400 jobs, and its launch is anticipated in 2026.

In February, the president announced the establishment of a FEZ attracting investors from China and the implementation of more than 30 projects totaling $3 billion in the fields of energy, machine engineering, textiles, and agriculture.
In the same month, the head of state signed a decree to establish the FEZ "Ipak Yuli". Its area covers 218 hectares, of which over 201 hectares are agricultural land. These lands have been reclassified for industrial, transport, communication, defense, and other purposes.
