Dilshod Akhmedov has been appointed as the General Director of the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant, as reported by Avesta Investment Group referencing an internal company document.
The appointment was announced during an off-site meeting chaired by the head of the supervisory board of “Uzmetkombinat” – Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov. Rashid Pirmatov, who has led the plant since 2021, is set to retire.
Changes in the management structure must be approved by the supervisory board and the shareholders' meeting. A decision is expected to be reached soon.
Dilshod Tursunkulovich Akhmedov (born in 1972) is a graduate of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. He also studied at the Skolkovo School of Management in Moscow.
Akhmedov has experience in organizing production and managing assets of industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan and Russia. Since January 2021, he has served as the First Deputy Chairman of the Board - Executive Director of “Uzmetkombinat.”
In January 2024, Akhmedov was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade. In this role, he oversaw the development of “Uzmetkombinat,” among other responsibilities.
Earlier, Spot reported that “Uzmetkombinat” extended its $100 million loan agreement with Citi for another year.
