As noted by the press service of the Ministry of Mining and Geology, the branches of the "Angren Coal Deposit," "Apartak Coal Deposit," and "Underground Coal Mining" made a significant contribution to achieving this result.
At the "Angren Coal Deposit," production exceeded 5.5 million tons of coal, while the "Apartak Coal Deposit" surpassed the milestone of 1.2 million tons for the first time in its history.
The increase in production volumes in recent years is evidenced by the dynamics: in 2019, "Uzbekugol" extracted 3.8 million tons, and by 2023, this figure rose to 5.8 million tons. Thus, in 2024, the company demonstrated a production growth of nearly 15%.
In 2025, it is planned to increase coal production to 10 million tons, with a long-term goal of reaching 20 million tons per year.
Coal reserves in Uzbekistan are estimated at two billion tons, which allows for stable industry development in the coming decades.
