On October 21, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a video conference to analyze the effectiveness of work and outline further priority tasks within the framework of the nationwide project "Yashil Makon".

Starting this year, 2,000 hectares of land adjacent to roads, rivers, and canals have been leased to 10,000 residents and entrepreneurs for greening purposes. Under the "My Garden" project, 49 billion sums have been allocated from the budget to create 215 new parks in the mahallas.

The meeting emphasized the need to increase the number of seedlings adapted to Uzbekistan's climate.

With effective cooperation with the Academy of Sciences, environmental services, organizations in agriculture, water, and forestry, quarantine research institutions, universities, and in vitro laboratories, the income from growing seeds and seedlings can be increased by 2-3 times, the president stated.

By 2025, four gardens with drought-resistant and salt-resistant halophytes are planned to be established in the Nukus, Arnasay, Karakul, and Mubarek districts. Additionally, on 250,000 hectares of deserts in Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Navoi, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, and Khorezm regions, waterless seeds of saxaul, kandym, and cherkiz will be sown using drones.

This spring, 1,500 tons of seeds will be harvested annually from healthy parent plantations in forestry. Based on the experience of South Korea, the production of 2 million drought-resistant seedlings adapted to climatic conditions has been established using a closed root system and in vitro methods.

The Forestry Agency has been tasked with organizing fairs in all mahallas and supplying 30 million seedlings. In the fall, it is planned that hokimiyats and ministries will plant 40 million seedlings.

The Veterinary and Livestock Development Committee has been tasked with preparing a three-year program for rehabilitating degraded deserts. In 2025, a grant of $50 million will be attracted for these purposes.

Together with the "Uzbekcosmos" agency, a platform for monitoring the ecological situation in the deserts is planned to be created. The Forestry Agency will also focus on combating desertification, while the "Yul Kukalam" organizations under the hokimiyats will transition to the agency's system.

Furthermore, the head of state criticized the drainage system in Tashkent, noting that "recent heavy rains revealed the real situation." Rainwater needs to be collected in reservoirs and used for irrigating trees, emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Earlier, Spot reported that projects for waste incineration plants were presented to the president.
