Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on January 11 regarding achievements in the electrical engineering sector and plans for its development. This was reported by the president's press service.
By the end of 2024, the production of electrical appliances accounted for 3.5% of industrial output, totaling 31 trillion sums. The industry's revenue from exports amounted to $1.3 billion, representing 10% of Uzbekistan's industrial exports.
85 new enterprises have been established, and the volume of foreign investments attracted reached $516 million. According to the head of "Uzelttehsanoat," Mirziyod Yunusov, this year an additional $600 million in investments is planned, along with the initiation of 290 new initiatives.
The share of domestically processed copper is set to reach 75%. Infrastructure for new enterprises has been developed on the lands of electrical engineering clusters, amounting to 181 billion sums.
Construction of ready-made buildings will be permitted in technopark areas, with subsequent sales to companies in the electrical engineering and related sectors. Enterprises implementing high-tech production will be exempt from profit and property taxes for 3 years.
Due to new measures, the launch of projects worth $68 million in the Akhangaran copper cluster is anticipated. Initiatives worth an additional $30 million are planned for implementation in Kashkadarya, Fergana, and Urgench, where branches of the Eltech Industrial technopark are located.
It is expected that the realization of new projects will increase annual production volumes of electrical appliances to 50 trillion sums and exports to $3 billion. Additionally, a procedure is being developed for purchasing equipment for "green" energy from local manufacturers for social facilities.
The president has instructed to take further measures to create infrastructural, material, and financial conditions for businesses. Furthermore, topics regarding the development of innovative products and the training of qualified personnel were discussed.
