Электросети трех регионов Узбекистана будут переданы в управление частным компаниям.

Electric grids in three regions of Uzbekistan will be handed over to private management.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, plans are in place to involve private operators in the management of distribution electric networks in the Samarkand, Jizzakh, and Syrdarya regions next year. This initiative aims to secure $4 billion for their modernization, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

This was discussed at the president's meeting on November 4.

It was noted that four companies in the sector – "Uzbek National Electric Networks," "Regional Electric Networks," "Thermal Power Plants," and "Uzbekhydroenergo" – have received international credit ratings. The next step is to transform them into competitive companies through modernization. This is necessary to ensure reliable electricity supply to consumers and to attract investments independently.

The president instructed to expedite the transformation of sector enterprises and implement modern management systems within them.

It was also emphasized that the coming year will be a year of rational resource use and efficiency for energy companies. The goal is to transform and digitize the operations of sector enterprises down to the grassroots level.
