Erkinjon Turdimov has stepped down from his position as the governor of Samarkand region.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has signed a decree relieving Erkinjon Turdimov from his position as the governor of the Samarkand region due to his transition to another job. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration.

The Acting Head of the Region has been appointed as Adiz Boboev, the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber.

Erkinjon Turdimov led the Samarkand region for 6 years, from 2018 until November 2024. Previously, he also managed the Surkhandarya and Navoi regions. It is worth noting that at the beginning of November this year, Turdimov was re-elected to the position of governor of the Samarkand region.
