An official meeting took place in Tashkent between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and the new Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia, Jaap Ora. During the meeting, Ora presented his credentials to Minister Saidov, officially confirming his authority as the head of the Estonian diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
Following the credential ceremony, negotiations were held regarding the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Estonian relations. The parties noted the positive dynamics of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. In particular, they discussed opportunities for expanding collaboration in the field of economic diplomacy, which is of mutual interest to both countries. Special attention was given to promising areas of cooperation in information technology, considering the high level of development in this sector in Estonia.
Minister Saidov and Ambassador Ora also addressed issues related to strengthening cultural ties and expanding interaction in the humanitarian sphere. The parties expressed confidence that enhancing contacts between the citizens of the two countries would further strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between Uzbekistan and Estonia.
At the end of the meeting, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov wished Jaap Ora success in his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan and expressed the Uzbek side's readiness to provide comprehensive support in his work. The appointment of the new ambassador is expected to give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
