A new factory for the production of FAW brand trucks will be established in Andijan. This was reported by the press service of the regional hokimiat.
The delegation from the Chinese automaker recently held talks with the regional administration. Following this, the guests visited the "Ipak Yuli" free economic zone to familiarize themselves with the area designated for future production.
Once fully operational, the factory will be able to produce 10,000 trucks annually. The projected investment in the project is estimated at $100 million, with construction expected to begin in November.
The administration also reviewed the progress of the air conditioning plant's construction. In the SEZ "Ipak Yuli," it is planned to produce air conditioners and air purification devices under the NAWAS brand.
The first FAW truck workshop began operations in the Andijan industrial hub in September 2023. The joint venture with UzAuto Trailer and Vodiy Universal Majmua cost approximately $15 million.
Earlier, Spot reported that the Uzbek-Singaporean joint venture TRT Auto Parts would invest over $1 million in the production of parts for BYD, Chery, and Geely vehicles.
