In December, the airline Fly Khiva will receive two Boeing 757 passenger aircraft. This was announced by the airline's director, Dilshod Khojaev, during a business breakfast on November 9, as reported by a Spot correspondent.
According to him, Fly Khiva aimed to launch domestic flights in 2021; however, this market was taken over by the regional airline Silk Avia. As a result, it was decided to focus on cargo transportation.
Dilshod Khojaev noted that there were no plans for launching passenger services this year, but the Icelandic airline Icelandair offered to lease two Boeing 757−300s, which are over 22 years old.
Fly Khiva plans to start flying from Tashkent to five cities in Uzbekistan: Urgench, Nukus, Termez, Fergana, and Namangan.
Among the international destinations being considered are Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Israel, Greece, India, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, and Latvia. At the initial stage, Fly Khiva intends to position itself as a charter carrier.
The aircraft will feature a class separation with business (22 seats) and economy (203 seats) classes. The free baggage allowance is 23 kg, while the carry-on luggage limit is 10 kg. Additionally, passengers flying from Saudi Arabia will be allowed to bring an extra 5 kg.
Fly Khiva was established in 2021 in Khiva to develop civil, cargo, and business aviation. In April 2022, it launched flights on the Baku - Tashkent route in collaboration with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL).
In January, the airline received its first aircraft. A cargo Boeing 767, leased from Icelandair, operates flights to Dubai, Istanbul, Delhi, and Hong Kong.
Previously, Spot reported that Uzbekistan Airways received its third light aircraft, the L-410.
