Uzbekistan's national debt is projected to reach $40.2 billion by the end of 2024, reflecting a 15.09% increase compared to 2023, when it stood at $34.93 billion. This information was reported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The majority of the debt consists of external debt, totaling $33.72 billion (84% of the overall amount), of which $33.16 billion is borrowed in foreign currency. Compared to 2023, the external debt has increased by 13.77% ($29.64 billion), while the debt in foreign currency has risen by 13.98% ($29.09 billion).
The country's internal debt stands at $6.48 billion (16% of the total debt). Compared to 2023, it has grown by 22.52% ($5.29 billion).
