Prompt resolution of issues that inconvenience people is fundamental to effective city management and fosters healthy relationships between the populace and government authorities. Notably, the application Xalq nazorati has become a convenient feedback tool connecting citizens with the executive authorities of Tashkent.
At the intersection of Kary-Niyazov and Nieyazbek streets, near the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation Engineers and Agricultural Mechanization, an engineering well cover has broken. It is likely that the damage to the metal lid was caused by heavy vehicles servicing construction sites in the area. The broken cover poses a threat to both pedestrians and vehicles, especially since this intersection is located in a residential area near kindergartens, a university, and an office building, where life is bustling from morning until late evening.
Given the potential dangers that the faulty cover could present to students, teachers, local residents, and employees of various companies, the editorial team of anhor.uz decided to intervene and restore order while also testing the functionality of the Xalq nazorati application.
The essence of the experiment was to determine how long it would take to resolve the issue from the moment the request was submitted through the “XalqNazorati” application.
Here is the timeline of events:
This case demonstrates, on one hand, that the Xalq nazorati application is functional, while on the other hand, it highlights that the city administration has room for improvement in inter-agency collaboration among city services. For ordinary citizens, it shows that they now have an effective tool for addressing shortcomings in their urban environment.
It is pleasant to note that the application’s operational geography is expanding – it is now active not only in the cities of Akhangaran, Yangiyul, Chirchik, Angren, and Nurafshon in the Tashkent region, but has also extended beyond the capital region and is available in two regional centers – Urgench and Jizzakh.
Modern digital tools can serve as a significant mechanism for ensuring feedback between the populace and government authorities. Their use not only facilitates prompt resolution of urban issues but also enhances the credibility of management bodies. Of course, this is contingent upon the administration's ability to establish effective interaction between its territorial departments.
Then, electronic feedback forms like XalqNazorati will represent a real step towards creating a safer and more welcoming urban environment.
