According to data published in the Italian publication Corriere della Sera, Ukraine is willing to consider the possibility of halting hostilities along the current front line without demanding the immediate return of lost territories. In exchange, Kyiv expects to receive security guarantees from the United States and expedited accession to the European Union.
As part of his European tour, which includes visits to Paris, Rome, and Berlin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is seeking the support of European leaders regarding the swift integration of the country into the EU. According to the publication, Kyiv's readiness for dialogue on a ceasefire is driven by the desire to secure clear prospects for EU membership and to obtain security guarantees from Western partners that could prevent future escalation of the conflict.
There is currently no information on what the "security guarantees" that Ukraine is expected to receive will look like. It is also unclear whether Russia is open to dialogue regarding a ceasefire on the conditions proposed by Kyiv.
