To enhance the efficiency of water supply, conserve water resources, and promote agricultural development in these regions, two major projects have been developed. The first project, with an estimated cost of 160 million dollars, will cover the Bukhara, Namangan, and Surkhandarya regions. An estimated 60 million dollars will be allocated for the Kashkadarya region.
Funding will be provided through a preferential loan from the Export-Import Bank of China (Exim Bank of China). The general contractors appointed for the projects are the Chinese companies CITIC Construction and China CAMC Engineering. The phased signing of agreements is set to begin in 2025, following the approval of the technical and economic justification for the projects.
