The Competition Committee has assisted several enterprises in the Jizzakh region in recalculating their debts for natural gas, as reported by the agency's press service.
Mining sector companies and representatives from automotive gas stations approached the regional office of the agency. They accused the state company "Hududgazta'minot" and its branch "Hududgaz Jizzakh" of imposing unjustified debts.
In response to these appeals, the Committee conducted an investigation. "Hududgazta'minot" was instructed to remove information about unjustly accrued debts amounting to 3.7 billion sums from the electronic system.
Amid a sharp increase in propane prices, on November 5, the Committee ordered the introduction of a price ceiling for trading on the commodity exchange. The restriction is set at 20% of the initial price established by the seller.
Sources at Spot described the agency's decision as an artificial attempt to curb exchange quotations. According to them, this limits competition, as all participants can offer the maximum allowable price.
Previously, Spot reported that the Competition Committee secured the return of 100 million sums to customers from marketplaces.
