Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection met with representatives from eight major retail chains in Uzbekistan to discuss the stability of food prices ahead of the New Year, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

Participants discussed the factors affecting the prices of socially significant food products and potential measures for their stabilization. Systemic issues in the trade of essential food items within retail networks were addressed, along with possible solutions.

The committee issued directives to retail networks, including brands such as "Korzhinka," "Makro," "Havas," "Baraka," "Magnum," "Assorti," "B1," and "Magnit," emphasizing the necessity for prompt notification regarding any price changes from suppliers. The document highlights the importance of preventing unjustified price increases, considering logistics costs, and analyzing other factors that may impact product pricing.

It is worth noting that the committee previously warned about unfair promotions and discounts in anticipation of the holidays.
