A Kuwaiti firm aims to invest $260 million in Uzbekistan's healthcare sector.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to Podrobno.uz, the Kuwaiti company Gulf Care General Trading plans to invest $260 million in the development of healthcare in Uzbekistan, as reported by a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

In an interview with O’zbekiston 24, the director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Abdulla Azizov, shared this information.

It is worth noting that during his visit to Kuwait, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings with major Kuwaiti companies, including those in the pharmaceutical sector.

The agreement with Gulf Care General Trading includes the establishment of diagnostic centers in various regions, the organization of drug production in five areas, and the creation of laboratories to enhance the quality of diagnostics. Additionally, it is planned to develop educational programs that will assist in training medical personnel and securing their employment abroad.

According to Iyad as-Salih, the head of Gulf Care General Trading, the investments will enable the implementation of large-scale projects in Tashkent, Fergana, Bukhara, Syrdarya, and other regions.

Another Kuwaiti company, Al Imtiaz Investment Group, plans to launch pharmaceutical production in Uzbekistan.

The director of the Pharmaceutical Agency also mentioned a meeting with the management of Kuwait Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries, which expressed interest in collaboration and will send its representatives to the republic within the next 2–3 months to discuss further steps.
