Low-income families will receive a one-time compensation for natural gas and electricity, as reported by the press service of the National Social Protection Agency.
The program will cover 1.4 million needy families, with payments amounting to 270,000 sums. The aim is to partially offset the costs of gas and electricity during the heating season (from November to February).
A total of 370 billion sums has been allocated from the state budget for these payments. By the end of October, the "Inson" Social Services Center, the Mahalla Association, and local authorities will compile lists of those in need.
Thus, the government provides assistance once a year based on:
the main list. This will include families receiving child benefits and/or financial assistance through the "Unified Social Protection Register" (1.2 million families);
the additional list. This includes other low-income individuals (180,000 families).
If a family is receiving child benefits and/or financial assistance through the "Unified Social Protection Register," the compensation will be automatically disbursed. The additional list will include families without breadwinners, single mothers, disabled individuals, and other needy persons.
The funds will be transferred to "People's Bank" cards by November 27.
Additionally, the government will compensate for the difference when consumption exceeds the social norm for electricity and gas. The National Social Protection Agency promises to provide further details on this later.
Previously, Spot reported that low-income individuals would be offered preferential loans for building and renovating homes.
