From January to October, Uzbekistan imported 20,190 electric vehicles, according to the Statistics Agency.
Compared to the same period last year, the volume of imported electric vehicles increased by 6,730 units, which is exactly 1.5 times more. The total import value reached $202.7 million.
In October, Uzbekistanis imported 3,981 electric vehicles from abroad, with a total value of $20.5 million. This monthly import figure has set a record for the third consecutive time since the beginning of this year.
China remains the main supplier of electric transport to Uzbekistan. Since the beginning of the year, 20,082 vehicles have been imported, accounting for 99.5% of the total, with 3,951 vehicles imported in October.
Kazakhstan holds the second position with 51 electric vehicles, of which 28 were imported in October—this is more than the total for the previous two months combined. Hong Kong maintains the third position with 17 electric vehicles, with no change since September. Additionally, Germany accounted for 14 electric vehicles, while the UAE and the USA each had 10.
The Center for Economic Research and Reforms noted a record growth in demand for electric vehicles in October. Over the month, Uzbekistanis purchased more than 5,000 vehicles, which is almost double the number from the same month in 2023.
