На границе Узбекистана и Казахстана откроется Центр промышленной кооперации.

A Center for Industrial Cooperation will be established at the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan border.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, a new International Center for Industrial Cooperation named "Central Asia" will be established at the border of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The relevant draft law for the ratification of the agreement between the governments of the two nations has been approved by the deputies of Kazakhstan's Mazhilis, as reported by a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

According to the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliev, the center will be located near the border crossing points "Atemeken" (Kazakhstan) and "Gulistan" (Uzbekistan). The facility will cover an area of 100 hectares, evenly split between the two countries. A portion of the land will be designated as a regional industrial zone.

The center will comprise manufacturing sites, warehouses, and transportation infrastructure. It is expected that this will expedite cargo transport, reduce logistics costs, lower the final product price, and foster industrial cooperation within the "North-South" corridor.

The construction of the center will be financed by a private investor selected by the Akimat of the Turkestan region following an open competition. The investor will be responsible for developing the necessary internal and external infrastructure.

The completion of construction is scheduled for the end of 2026, with the official opening anticipated in the first half of 2027.

The project aims to support new manufacturing initiatives, create jobs, enhance the processing of agricultural and industrial products, as well as develop sectors such as machine engineering, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, chemistry, textiles, and the garment industry. Specifically, the center plans to implement a project by Global Textile to produce finished textile products.

It is noted that the agreement to establish the Industrial Cooperation Center implements a decision made at the 20th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
