$118.5 million will be allocated for the development of Uzbekistan's agricultural sector.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the country will invest $118.5 million in the mechanization and modernization of its agriculture by 2026. The World Bank will provide financial support for this initiative.

The funds will be allocated under the decree of the country's president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Of the total amount of $53.5 million, the World Bank will provide funding for leasing organizations. Additionally, $65 million will be directed towards the purchase of agricultural machinery as part of its "Agricultural Modernization" project.

By February 2025, regional authorities are required to complete the list of farmers who will receive cotton harvesting machines, laser graders, and other equipment.

Furthermore, until 2027, cotton harvesters and garden combines, as well as agricultural machinery up to 10 years old, will be exempt from recycling fees. Starting in March 2025, a ban will be implemented on the registration of agricultural machinery and the operation of tractors without GPS trackers.
