На улучшение дренажной системы Ташкента выделено дополнительно 6 миллиардов сумов.

An additional 6 billion sums have been allocated for the enhancement of Tashkent's drainage system.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the mayor of the capital, Shavkat Umurzakov, has allocated 6 billion sums for the enhancement of Tashkent's drainage system. The funds to address this pressing issue in the city's infrastructure will be sourced from the surplus of the local budget, resulting from the third quarter of 2024.

The document signed by the head of the capital administration also states that a decision by the city council of people's deputies on March 13 of this year allocated 20.4 billion sums for these purposes.

In April 2023, 700 million sums were allocated for the repair of the irrigation and drainage system in Tashkent. At that time, climatologist Erkin Abdulkhatov commented on the situation, comparing the 10 billion sums allocated earlier that year for "tea events" to the amount of funds designated for the drainage system.

It is worth noting that recently, the President of Uzbekistan stated at a meeting regarding the "Yashil Makon" project that a master plan and a program for creating rainwater collection systems and artificial reservoirs need to be developed to address the drainage system issues.

In March of this year, the Ecological Party had already proposed to adopt a program for implementing a rainwater utilization system in the country. According to their estimates, properly treated rainwater can be used in various production processes. This could significantly reduce the consumption of drinking water, allowing for savings of up to 71 liters per person per day.
