A new director has been appointed to the Savitsky Museum in Nukus.

The new director of the State Museum of Arts named after Igor Savitsky, located in Nukus, is Gulbahor Izentaeva Jollibaevna.

Prior to this appointment, she held the position of head of the Tourism Department of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Gulbahor Izentaeva previously led the Savitsky Museum from 2017 to 2020.

In this role, she succeeded art historian Tigran Mkrtichev from Moscow, who managed the museum since July 2019.
