Last year, Uzbekistan experienced a total of 5,716 corruption-related crimes, involving approximately 7,000 individuals. Among these, 309 corruption cases within the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment were linked to the activities of assistant hokims.
The highest number of corruption offenses occurred in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions, as well as in the city of Tashkent. Conversely, the lowest levels of corruption were recorded in the Bukhara and Khorezm regions.
It is important to note that corruption has a detrimental effect on the nation's development. The rise in corruption-related crimes leads to economic and social inequality.
