The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has reviewed and approved the draft amendments to the Land Code in the first reading. This was reported by the press service of the lower house.
According to the bill, it is planned to classify land used for agricultural purposes by types of use. In addition to agricultural land (arable land), the code introduces the concept of "land serving agriculture."
The document also includes provisions for stricter protection of irrigated lands. It is proposed to allow their use for other purposes only in the case of significant changes in water supply and soil quality.
The amendments provide for a clear distinction between plots in the reserve fund and free land available to local authorities due to the termination of rights. According to the deputies, the adoption of the law will contribute to "equality and transparency" in land relations.
Moreover, in the first reading, a bill was passed that includes amendments to the Tax Code. It is proposed to simplify the calculation of the amount of overcharged tax for future payments, as well as to provide benefits to "certain categories of individuals."
At the same time, the deputies returned the draft law on the protection of underground water, which was adopted in the first reading in January, for further refinement. This introduces liability for illegal drilling of wells, as well as an increased tax on water usage when extracting water without a meter.
Earlier, Spot reported that land tenants would be given the freedom to choose the crops they grow.
