UzAuto Motors has appointed an interim general director. This information was announced on the automaker's website.
Until a permanent leader is appointed, the company will be managed by Odiljon Bastamkulov. Previously, he headed the company "Avtooyna."
The former head of UzAuto Motors and UzAuto Motors Powertrain, Bu Andersson, left his positions on December 27, after serving for 3 years and 4 months. According to the announcement, the decision for his resignation was reached "by mutual agreement."
During Andersson's tenure, the automaker's revenue increased by nearly 130%. The company boosted its production and sales volumes to 400,000 vehicles per year, launched the Tracker and Onix models, and created 4,000 jobs.
The average net profit of the automaker over the past three years has exceeded 6%. Additionally, in late 2022 to early 2023, an initial public offering (IPO) of UzAuto Motors was held, amounting to approximately 57 billion sums.
However, in September of this year, Andersson was fined 5% of his salary according to a decision made by the shareholders' meeting. The reason was the untimely resolution of issues related to the company's accounts receivable in foreign trade operations.
The managing director of UzAuto Motors Powertrain, Saidazim Gulyamov, has been appointed as the acting general director of the company. He had been overseeing engine production since 2016 until Andersson's appointment.
Earlier, Spot reported that UzAuto Motors contracted a batch of 50,000 Cobalt vehicles.
