On December 20, power outages are expected again in certain areas of the Bektemir district, as reported by "Tashgorenergo."
The reason for this is once again due to repair work and the "prevention of emergency situations in the power grid." From 9 AM to 5 PM, interruptions may occur in the neighborhoods of "Musaffo," "Nurli Yul," and "Sohil."
Since the summer of 2023, a large-scale modernization of the power grid has been ongoing in the capital. In June, the most extensive rolling blackouts of the season were observed – for instance, on June 8, eight districts lost power.
Last August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that the leadership of the energy sector would be transferred to an emergency operating mode. The President urged officials to take urgent action to prepare the energy system for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
During a meeting in October 2023, the head of state instructed to develop a program for the modernization of power lines and transformers by the end of 2026. By that time, it is planned to reduce the share of electricity losses in the networks by 1.5 times.
The President reiterated the task of eliminating emergency power outages by June of this year. An additional 14 trillion soums will be allocated for the preparation of the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
Earlier, Spot reported that since the beginning of the year, citizens sold solar electricity worth 10.5 billion soums.
