On February 4, power supply interruptions are expected in two districts of Tashkent, as reported by "Tashgorenergo."

The outages are linked to maintenance work on the network and "to prevent emergency situations." The following locations will be affected:

  • In the Bektemir district – mahalla "Nurafshon" from 9 AM to 5 PM;
  • In the Uchtepa district – mahalla "Nishabaryk" from 10:30 AM to 5 PM (resumption of supply may occur before the indicated time).

Since the summer of 2023, the capital has been undergoing modernization of its power networks. In June of that year, the most extensive rolling blackouts of the season were observed – for instance, on June 8, eight districts lost electricity. In August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the transition of the energy sector's leadership to an emergency operating mode.

At a meeting in October 2023, the head of state instructed the development of a program for the modernization of power lines and transformers by the end of 2026. By that time, it is planned to reduce the share of electricity losses in the networks by 1.5 times.

The president reiterated the task of eliminating emergency power outages by June 2024. An additional 14 trillion sums will be allocated for the preparation of the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.

Earlier, Spot reported that a "gray" mining farm in the capital consumed energy worth 2.1 billion sums.
