As previously reported by Spot, the president has signed a law amending the Labor Code. Among other things, it prohibits dismissal for reasons related to pregnancy or having children.

The law also clarifies the procedure for calculating payments related to vacations. This pertains to both the payment for annual paid leave and monetary compensation for unused paid leave.

In determining the amount of payments, Sundays will not be taken into account.

The duration of unpaid leave, according to the new version, should not exceed three months within a 12-month period. In the previous version, the limit was three months within a year following the last unpaid leave.

Unpaid leave for a parent or guardian of a child with a disability under 16 years old, or for two or more children under 12 years old, will be a maximum of 14 calendar days. Previously, it could last a minimum of 14 days.

According to the new version, any concurrent employment for individuals under 18 years old is not permitted. Additionally, the ban extends to combining two or more jobs with unfavorable working conditions (except in the healthcare system).

Earlier, Spot reported that the Ministry of Economic Development and Finance denied rumors about planned increases in the minimum wage.
