Russia will boost natural gas supplies to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced plans to increase gas supplies to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan. He made this statement yesterday during a press conference in Astana with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Putin reminded that the transportation of Russian gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan commenced in 2023. As part of the collaboration between the countries, a permanent group was established to develop industrial cooperation in energy and other sectors.

"Such supplies will only increase," noted the Russian leader, emphasizing the steady development of relations with Kazakhstan in the energy sector.

Putin also mentioned the activities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, through which the bulk of Kazakhstan's oil is exported to international markets. This oil is transported through Russian territory and its port infrastructure in the Black Sea. At the same time, Russian oil is supplied to China via Kazakhstan.

Furthermore, Russia imports Kazakh coal, engages in mutual electricity exchange, and plans to construct two new thermal power plants in Kazakhstan. The President of Russia emphasized that Gazprom continues to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies to Kazakh consumers.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan and Russia are planning to establish new logistics routes via the Caspian Sea.
