In the first nine months of this year, over 6,000 citizens received payments under the "Sunny House" program, as reported by the press service of the Tax Committee.
The program, which launched in April 2023, provides subsidies for electricity supplied to the general power grid generated by solar panels in residential homes.
The total amount of payments made under the program reached 8.9 billion sums, of which 4 billion sums were disbursed in August and September alone. With a rate of 1,000 sums per kilowatt-hour, this indicates that participants in the initiative generated 8.9 million kWh.
Leading the way in payment volume was the Khorezm region, with 2.1 billion sums. Following closely are Karakalpakstan with 1.5 billion sums and Tashkent with 1.2 billion sums.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the introduction of subsidies for households installing solar panels last February. Funds are transferred through the Soliq app to the owner's bank card by the 25th of the month following the reporting period.
In August, the president instructed to exempt components for solar panels from import duties and VAT. This move aims to create a more level playing field between local manufacturers and importers.
Earlier, Spot reported that the Ministry of Energy opened a special hotline for complaints about coercion to install solar panels.
