Since the beginning of the year, the volume of money transfers to Uzbekistan has exceeded $11 billion.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, from January to September 2024, the volume of remittances sent from abroad to Uzbekistan reached $11.3 billion. This figure marks an increase of 34.8% compared to the same period last year, reports a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

This was announced at a press conference on October 31 by the chairman of the Central Bank, Mamarizo Nurmuratov.

The majority of remittances to Uzbekistan still come from Russia. In the first nine months, remittances from Russia increased by 35% to 8.75 billion dollars. However, its share in the total for the first half of the year decreased to 75.3%. It's worth noting that in 2022, Russia's share of remittances was about 87%, while in 2023 it dropped to 78%.

From Kazakhstan, 626 million dollars were sent to our country, 420 million dollars came from South Korea, 415 million from the USA, and 291 million from Turkey. Additionally, 93 million dollars were sent from the United Kingdom, and 48 million dollars from Poland.

The Central Bank stated that the high growth rates of remittances contribute to an increase in the population's income.

As a reminder, new measures to protect the rights and interests of citizens working abroad will be implemented in Uzbekistan from 2024 to 2026.
