This is stated in the decree by Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated February 27. The document, among other things, allows self-employed citizens to engage in passenger transportation using private vehicles on a permanent basis.
The license card will be issued for a period of one year. It will include information about the validity period, the area of operation, as well as details about the recipient and the vehicle. The state duty for its issuance will amount to 1 BRV (375,000 sums).
Additionally, self-employed taxi drivers will need to install a light sign with the word "Taxi" on the roof of their vehicle. There is no requirement to equip the car with a meter (taximeter), radio, or cash register equipment.
Taxi drivers will undergo annual medical examinations at state or private clinics from the UzTrans database.
Private carriers are not obligated to pay taxes but may choose to pay a social tax of 1 BRV annually. This will allow them to increase their service record and gain the right to pension benefits.
If citizens are engaged in other areas of activity under an employment contract, they can also participate in transportation after registering as self-employed.
It is noteworthy that since September 2022, self-employed individuals have been allowed to engage in private transportation based on a temporary permit. Now this right is granted on a permanent basis.
